Barry: "Let Off-Shore Drilling Begin"...Or Grab the Money and the Power

How far back shall we go to see the saga of ocean oil drilling unfold; we could go back to pre-Elvis 1953 and the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act? Since this ocean oil drilling has undergone many drill and do not drill cycles, we will go further back than President GHW Bush. But the question to consider is what is driving the socialist Barry is saying to permit the off-shore drilling for oil.


In 1990 GHW Bush ordered the Department of Interior to limit off-shore leasing activity (for oil pursuits) to Louisiana, Alabama, Texas and part of Alaska. His son Govenor Jeb did not want any oil drilling off of Florida. In 1998 President Clinton extended the oil ban for another ten years.

In 2008, President George W. Bush signed the Energy Independence and Security Act, which included a provision calling for Congress to pass legislation opening access to the outer continental shelf and ANWR for oil exploration.

How could Barry endanger these polar cuties?

So why did the President Obama adopt a similar plan? (Unfortunately, the new plan is not on the President's website so we will have to use second hand sources to explain it.) Initially Barry was preaching that changing your tire pressure was enough.

Well Interior Secretary Salazar is doing the environmental impact studies. He is currently getting new studies done to obtain new data on the location and properties of oil reserves.On March 31, 2010, President Obama announced the expansion of oil exploration, flipping his position on benefits of tire pressure.

No longer is President Obama ridiculing the long wait to oil output. He is no longer skeptical about the productive capacity of 1.7B acres of the outer continental shelf (OCS) under management of the OEMM which may produce 86B barrels oil, possibly generating 15 to 20 years of oil supply. Here is an ABC report that discussing the specific areas of the OCS that will be leaseable .(Sorry: there is a bit about Iran in the video skip that for now.)

There are those that think Barry has not flipped on OCS leases, like PolitiFact.Com. Remember he updated his position on nuclear fuel on February 16, 2010, by providing $8.3B in loan guarantees to build nuclear reactors. Why did the Socialist Barry flip or did he flip? John Broder of the NYT gives rational reasons for the flip. Such as: one, there is a need to reduce our dependency on foreign oil especially since some of the oil comes from enemies of the US, two, the government is going to need money to fund the new monster health plan, three this is a way to get more Republicans to support the climate change bills such as "Cap and Trade". Not bad reasons for a President but not good enough for a socialist.

Other reasons for a politician: Look at the map, notice the number of southern blue states that could gain from oil lease revenue and oil taxes assuming it is shared. This can become only lip service, with a head fake, as the closing of the formerly available Bristol Bay and now opening of the Chukchi Sea and the Beaufort Sea. Another head fake could easily follow. Two, it could be that President Obama sees the nexuses of low cost and always accessible domestic oil and more US jobs and low cost American goods. Three, it could be that in the manner in which he plans everything, namely without a plan, oil exploration is added to the mix that is not working, biomass, windmills, batteries etc, along with a poorly funded nuclear power loan guarantee plan. Fourth in the poker game of energy between the environmentalist and the oil companies President Obama saw that denigration of the oil industry was not working for him. But these are all presidential or political reasons not socialist reasons.

Sharky&Sharky side with Rightpundits and say look for the power grab. Look for the Socialism. Look for the state insitutionalization of the oil industry; that is the crushing of its liberty. Sharky&Sharky says, look for money and the power flow forming a nexus that structured somewhat like this: Purchases of the oil leases from the government, high cost royalty payments to the government, prices and salaries set by the government, and distribution approved by the government via strong licensing and regulation by the government. The Oil Industry is in line to suffer the fates of the Insurance Industry. Steal yourself to fight modern corporatism or be prepared to loose your liberty!

ACORN Buried Under Dirt and Debt

The recent news that ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) is shutting down should not be considered a completed victory for those who love liberty. To review the precipitating event of the demise of ACORN, James O’Keefe’s and his associates videotaped an ACORN office approving of prostitution, child procurement for sexual exploitation, and advising on tax evasion. See twenty minutes of videos below, which are overproduced, stylized (Mr. O’Keefe did not wear the pimp coat shown in the video to the ACORN office), purposive, discarded by the court for heavy editing, and suggested a bill of attainder. In the war of ideas and policy Sharky&Sharky is not sure if O’Keefe's actions are perfidious (illegal) or spying (legal) with regard to ACORN. These tapes are stressful to watch.


ACORN funding has been terminated by Congress, in contradiction to two court orders, and donations to ACORN have greatly dwindled. The impact of significant funding reductions is the closing of ACORN. This is stated by Mr. Whelan, ACORN Communications Director speaking for the Acorn Association Board, in an email:

The ACORN Association Board met on Sunday March 21 and approved a set of steps to responsibly manage the process of bringing its operations to a close over the coming months. These include:

• Closing ACORN’s remaining state affiliates and field offices by April 1st; and
• Developing a plan to resolve all outstanding debts, obligations and other issues.

ACORN’s members have a great deal to be proud of–from promoting to homeownership to helping rebuild New Orleans, from raising wages to winning safer streets, from training community leaders to promoting voter participation—ACORN members have worked hard to create stronger to communities, a more inclusive democracy, and a more just nation.

Why does Sharky&Sharky say that ACORN has not gone away? First no one in ACORN has been arrested. Thus the people that comprised ACORN are still active in their communities as social and political activist, fundraisers, and religious leaders. They will return in a different guise with a different name. Although ACORN activists do not call themselves or any many cases think of themselves as socialists or communists the outcomes of their actions are the same. Their actions increase the number people that are dependent on the government rather than their own liberty and resources, thereby increasing the size of government, increasing centralization, and increasingly taking resources from those that desire to control their own liberty. The outcome is that government becomes larger than the free individual. Why do socialists and ACORN activist pursue their agenda? Deep in their social souls they believe that an American Utopia will come about when a national equality is achieved. However, in order to achieve a national equality of Americans you need to empower the US Government to enforce equality as a right not something earned. The outcome of the actions necessary to enforcement equality at the same time constrain and choke of liberty. Thus Government’s purpose is perverted; instead of being the guardian of liberty Government must constrain liberty. Government rather than the individual citizen becomes the source of liberty. Liberty is like reputation once you lose it it is very difficult to get it back.

Mr. O’Keefe has been arrested and is currently out on bail for maliciously interfering with a telephone system operated and controlled by the US government in Senator Mary Landrieu’s office. See No Wiretap Article. Sharky&Sharky applaud Mr. O’Keefe for pursuing one of the three foundations of this blog, Pursuit of the Truth. The other foundations are Maximization of Liberty and the Elimination of the Financial hosing of some American People. House Republican Leader John Boehner analysis shows ACORN received $31M from 1998 to 2008. The question is will the $3.83T 2011 budget have something for the sons of ACORN.

The World's Greatest Heist

Until March 21st. 2010, the world’s largest heists, with few exceptions, occurred in Europe and the Middle East.  From Beirut to Cannes to Antwerp to Heathrow, valuables and all sorts of freedoms have brazenly and surreptitiously been reallocated from one group, to another presumably more deserving group.

All successful thefts share several traits.  Among them: conspiracy, resources necessary to accomplish the theft, research, planning, timing and misdirection.  Much as a magician misleads an audience, thieves employ techniques to mislead those who would find them out or prematurely reveal their plans.

But some thieves are bold and care little about consequences - pulling daring heists in broad daylight or under victims noses.  They are so good that the likelihood of them being caught out is nil and if and when they finally are - it is too late to recover the value of the stolen property.

The world is about to witness a theft unlike any seen before.  A bold, beautiful, daring theft.  A misdirection that makes David Copperfield’s disappearing Statue Of Liberty look like a dime-store holdup.  An unimaginable theft.

Enter Barack Obama - a thieves thief.  A person Bernie Madoff would and could be proud of.  If successful, by stealing this nation’s medical sector - one-sixth of this nation’s economy, a tidy sum of $2.4 TRILLION PER YEAR will now be controlled by his future lackeys, co-conspirators and the Internal Revenue Service.  Oh yes - future.  The thief does not want to be around when the theft is fully and finally discovered.

SharkyandSharky believe this money grab will result in the disappearance of vast sums of wealth - sums that will make the Middle East’s wealth pall in comparison.  Along for the ride, the U.S. Constitution and The Bill Of Rights are being stolen as well.  And with their disappearance, basic human rights: those of choice, self determination and freedom will have also vanished.

Remember this - 

MORE GOVERNMENT = LESS FREEDOM = SLAVERY

Now that we know what the thief is up to, can we stop him and his co-conspirators before it’s too late?

Sharky&Sharky are willing to guess that most of our dear readers have never heard of Mr. Ali Farokhmanesh? If you have heard of Mr. Ali Farokhmanesh, then you are up to date on the everyday events in the good old U S of A. If you have not heard of him then you have not followed the news as he and his gang destroyed the University of Las Vegas and then proceeded to vanquish Kansas. You missed the recent report on these calamities because Mr. F. did not do it with by setting his shoe on fire or by shooting soldiers while on duty atg a US military base or by putting rockets in his undershorts and flying to Detroit.

The young Mr. F. is not a terrorist, but he and his team are terrors, wreaking havoc on the nations’ moneyed basketball monoliths.

Here is a Kansan in defeat begging for either mercy or forgiveness; Sharky&Sharky cannot tell which. He cannot be praying for victory since his destruction is over.

Whoever has heard of the Northern Iowa University Panthers? (There are no panthers in Northern Illinois.) How did this team get to the Sweet Sixteen? This team is so poor that their names are not on the backs of their jerseys.

This little sports sharkbite is not really about Mr. F., but more about that he serves as a protagonist for people of stereotyped backgrounds, the press' reenforcement of stereotypes, and the heart of marginally funded teams, in general the underdog. This bite is about where opportunity can lead when there is an undergirding of liberty. Let us congratulate The Panthers, an unheard of small moneyed team that has earned their chance for victory. And lets us appreciate the young Mr. F. for reminding us that stereotypes are often wrong when it comes to judging people that want to leap past any preconceived images and notions that attempt to entrap them.

Ali Farokhmanesh mom is an Iowan, his dad an Iranian who played on Iran’s 1980 Olympic volleyball team. Another surprise winning team is St Mary’s with Omar Samhan. Samhan put in 32-points against Villanova, in "what stood as the weekend's biggest shocker until Northern Iowa trumped it". Samhan, is of Egyptian descent and was named for the actor Omar Sharif.

Google's recent admonishment of the PRC has far reaching consequences - much further than Canal Street, NYC.  A U.S. company has shoved the proverbial chopsticks up the anus of one of the most sudo-capitalistic communistic repressive governments of the 21st century.  Why?  They don't want to be placed into the Chinese government's equivalent of "to-go" containers.

Sharkyandsharky still maintain that information, regardless of it's source or veracity, is the bedrock of freedom.  Tiananmen Square happened folks, as did Kent State.  No amount of political posturing, censorship, rewriting of history or threat can alter the fact.

Although many in this country are of the lo mein noodle type, there are those of us who still have a Sichuan backbone.  Google and it's overlords appear to be of that ilk.  Let's hope that Google's decision bytes China in the ass.

Sharky&Sharky has invented a new term, Wreckonciliation. Wreckonciliation is a government knowingly destroying a significant social institution by implementing a new institution or furthering the aims of an existing institution or governmental program without regard for the unintended consequences. The term wreckonciliation is most properly used only in those instance where the negative, unintended, imperious, perverse,or unforeseen consequences are catastrophic. The Scholar Merton identified “imperious immediacy of interest”as a category of unintended consequences. This is a blind commitment to an action to such a degree that one purposefully chooses to ignore any unintended consequences.
Now Sharky&Sharky knows that you have spent a year studying the America's Affordable Health Choices act of 2009, 2309 pages,This is the House Reconciliation Bill .You are aware that it includes such items as your coverage will not be dropped at the discretion of the insurer, coverage of preexisting conditions, up to 31 million uninsured people will be provided subsidies so that they will be insured. All of us will be required to have health insurance. Abortion will be funded. The bill does not reduce ongoing Medicare deficits. The Bill does not control cost. Look for the public option to reappear.

Ok we agree tis could be a bad bill; so how does wreckonciliation have a part in this? Whether the Health Bill is good or bad it will have to stand on its own. What is being wreckconciled? Do you remember the US Constitution? This is what is being wrecked. Reviewing that Institution's Article 1 Section 7 Clause 2: “Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a Law, be presented to the President of the United States: If he approves he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it, with his Objections to that House in which it shall have originated, who shall enter the Objections at large on their Journal, and proceed to reconsider it.” This is the presentment clause; it confirms that the only way a bill can become law is that it must be passed in identical form by both chambers and it must be signed by the President. The two bills prior to going to the President for signing must go to a conference committee composed of members of both chambers to reconcile the differences in the two versions of the bill. The final single bill then goes back to both chambers for final approval/vote. The singular approved bill goes to the President for signing into law. Lets us set aside the Presidents veto scenario.

This bill reconciliation should not be confused with Budget Reconciliation. Budget Reconciliation is a change to the Budget which is already a law. Normally the changes are within the scope of the Budget that was approved by both houses and has been signed into law by the President. The bill reconciliation is a reconciling Chamber differences on a bill. Slick Sister Pelosi is going to try to use Budget Reconciliation to achieve passage of the Health Plan. Doesn't this make your head hurt?

Congresswomen Pelosi and Slaughter in their “imperious immediacy of interest” want to use the budget reconciliation process to push through the President's Health Plan. Now follower's of Sharky&Sharky, wreckonciliation will require you to think very very slowly to follow this.

First, the House of Representatives (HR) must approve the Christmas Eve Senate version of the health bill as it stands. That health bill for example includes funding for abortion which some members of the House do not approve of. No matter! HR must approve of everything in the Senate bill exactly as it is. The Senate bill cannot go back to the Senate due to the election of Scott Brown. The Democrats no longer have 51 votes, a majority in the Senate.

Second, the leadership of the House will deem the Senate bill as law and force the vote on the Reconciliation Bill noted above. Thus the House will never vote on the Health Plan per se which is in violation of the Constitution. This vote on the HR Reconciliation Bill is the much talked about straight up and down vote. Thus the members of HR can say that they never voted on the Health Plan they only voted for the Reconciliation Bill or a Slaughter Rule which is deemed as an alternative for the Senate bill.

Third, After the President signs the Health Bill into law. The Health Plan will go to the Senate as a law, with the hope that the Senate will endorse at least some of the changes in the HR Reconciliation Bill. It does not matter if the Senate does or does not approve of any of the Reconciliation bill from the House, the original Senate bill will now be law. Thus a law will be created that did not use the Constitutional process to create a law. Is it a law? No it is monster.

Now dear reader you can see that your beloved Constitution has been raped, Wreckconciled. It is now sitting on the side of the road despoiled awaiting the next Wreckconciliation.

Barbie - I Hardly Knew Ya

SharkyandSharky are not sure of many things.  One thing we are sure of however, not everyone is created equal - not even Barbie Dolls - as the picture clearly indicates.  How is it possible in this age of new dawning that non-melanin challenged (hopefully that is today's politically correct term) Barbies are worth only half the retail price of Barbies who will die prematurely from skin cancer?  It would seem that the former should be worth more because it won't blister and start to dissolve if played with outdoors.

The nations largest retailer has certainly dropped the sun tan lotion on this one.  As a result, they are likely to get sand kicked in their face by a variety of Reverends and the NAACP.

We are approaching a mobius strip crossroads in this country.  No matter which way we turn we find ourselves back at the same spot each time - only with less options.

Freedom has just about left the building.  Someone should remember to turn the lights out.

The Loss of Liberty through Science

Do you see the two balls, click and they will turn around and turn redder? Red is bad.  They are earth images (not the mammaries of a noted burlesque dancer) showing two different global warming simulation. The one on the left is the business as usual scenario it is called A1B. In A1B we keep on burning carbon products but we introduce non fossil fuels, a balance across all sources (A1B). The second globe E1 shows with a nuance what will happen if the earth’s atmospheric (surface-air) temperature is controlled by driving down the use of carbon products so that the temperature does not rise by more the 2°C. This no more that 2°C increase appears to be the best for the earth and appears to be the best we can achieve if we all greatly suspend the use of carbon based products (Can you say  “no gasoline” or “no diesel”, children?).

The true impact is not these esoteric and mysterious and rather hypnotic balls. It is not what you see it is what you do not see i.e. the lost of political power, the lost of liberty which will be necessary to effect this 2°C solution. Sharky&Sharky is going to breakdown the real impact of Global Warming to our readers. The Sharky&Sharky area of concern is that Global Warming (GW) is another power grab by politicians this time using “science” to gain control of our day to day existence, deploying gullible and naïve scientists and so-called Nobel Peace Prize winners. Sharky&Sharky are your Batman and Robin when it comes to detecting those that want to subject you to social dictatorship, whether it be through science (Global warming, diet control, etc), social equity (How do we spell health plan, children?), or social justice (Forget The Constitution let 11 million illegal Hispanics become citizens.). All of these apparent social goods are the ostensible objectives of the social dictator while the true outcome whether intended or not is social control.

Growing Emissions of CO₂, “From 19th Century until now CO₂ in the atmosphere has gone from 280ppm to 390ppm”, says Dr Slingo: Tape 1 However note in the video she goes from this falsifiable proposition to “It is hard to believe that if you increase it CO₂ by 40% that you are not going to do something to the temperature of the planet”, which is a nonfalsifiable statement. Dr. Slingo indicates that through monitoring the Met Office can correlate the increase of carbon emissions due to energy production, transportation, etc to the CO₂ levels in the atmosphere.

Now dear reader the next part requires that you energize at least half of your brain. You cannot run on regular from this point on and you must at least be in third. Ready? In the prior previous interglacial periods (IGP) the earth’s orbit changed thereby causing more solar energy to be absorbed by the earth. This increase in energy caused the earth’s biosphere to produce more CO₂. Dr. Slingo does not say what elements of the biosphere generated the increase; Sharky&Sharky missed the last interglacial period. But like most periods the old IGP is coming back according to Dr. Slingo. When you ask? Well at the end of this century; that will be around 2100. A kid born today would be 90 years old. (About the time that the Chinese and the Japanese demand that we pay our debts.) Then earthlings will have a Double Whammo of CO₂. The IGP due to GOD changing the orbit of the earth and man induced global warming. This will be like making an alimony payment and a tax payment both at the same time. (Can you say Tiger Wood, children?).

The Models that Dr. Slingo uses generate weather scenarios, and she indicates that they are very useful. They are tested based on daily weather forecasting. (Can you say accurate weather forecast, children?) If you can stand anymore science here is the good Doctor indicating how she knows what she knows. Tape 2 Net: We have just experienced the warmest decade on record. Then at the end of this tape Dr. Slingo iterates all the dreads which position policymakers for social takeover: (1) Loss of livelihood (2) Loss of island homelands (3) Loss of ocean coastal cities, (4) Food security (5) Migration of populations.

In the last tape Dr. Slingo indicates that if we dramatically reduce CO₂ emissions the dreads will be mitigated although the effects will not change anything for 30 years Tape 3 .She is shooting for limiting the air-temperature rise to 2°C over the next 90 years. (Adults, can you say "they are from the governement and they are here to help?)

Now you have the basis for the thinking about anthropogenic global warming, AGW, man-made global warming. Sharky&Sharky are not as smart as Dr. Slingo. If global warming and its ills are occurring due to AGW, then this is either true or not true; it is potentially falsifiable. We cannot know that it is absolutely true soon nor will a democratic majority admit it is true until shortly before we start choking. Further China and other developing countries will fight reduction in AGW until they have a competitive advantage over the US.

World social policy is the absolutely wrong response. We must not let AGW become the basis for a socialist takeover of the US. AGW is no reason to for US citizens to obey a social policy science driven by an international group of scientists from socialist or communist countries. The benefits of science applied to large scale social programs outside of medicine is uproven.   (Can you say California pollution control, mud slide control, or forest fire control, Children?). Potential climate crisis should not be the motivation to increase political control over the US; this is the path to worldwide social dictatorship.

We should not abandon the thoughtful responses of our capitalist democratic country. The US Policy should incent thoughtful innovative response. Long-term crisis should be a provocation to invention, innovation, and exploitation of new approaches not to line up with uniform worldwide social policy. This is a time for the US to take the lead in innovation and exploitation (Can you say jobs for mommy and daddy, Children?). This is the time for US policy to encourage multiple approaches to energy production,  transportation, and other non-carbon alternatives. A simple suggestion could be a new type of Indianapolis 500 say a Minneapolis 500 where racing cars are not allowed to use carbon based fuel as an energy source. Sharky&Sharky would say that this would cost say 5 million and over 10 years 50 million. Remember Dr. Slingo says we cannot change anything for 30 years. The Minneapolis 500 might produce a non-carbon fuel racing car in 10 years which is cheaper for everyone. We do not have to worry about the carbon car guys. Once the carbon car guys discover that Minneapolis has a competitive entry they will respond but it will be too late (Can you say GM, children)

Two Father Williams..,Two Tier Medical Systems

If you were remember there are two father Williams. One was quite moral by Robert Southey and other was quite the shall we say the clown of Lewis Carroll . A verse or two from each:

Note this article by David Jones, tells us there were two analogous modern Williams. Both subjected to the Canadian Medical System. One acted like a good Southey Canadian the other like a good Carroll Canadian. The Southey Canadian died waiting in the queue for surgery. The Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador known as "Danny Millions" Williams came to the United States and had his surgery done at Mount Sinai in Florida, recouped at his Sarasota Condo, and made an appearance at the winter Olympics in Vancouver, where he quipped "if I pass out take me to Seattle". His quote was, "This is my heart, it's is my health, and it's my choice". He then went on to imply that this type of thing of coming to the US is commonly done.

Rights Or Wrongs

Every cop (law enforcement type) will be the first to tell you that driving is a privilege.  And who decides what is and isn't a privilege?  A random age requirement, passing a test, hand eye coordination or other pre-ordained prerequisites?

In this country, rights are often confused with wrongs.  We, citizens, are supposed to know what is wrong.  At one time it was easy.  The ten commandments or common sense or the adage - do unto others as you would have them do unto you - instructed or guided us as to what was wrong.  Of course, we all now know this guidance is wrong - the politically correct have told us.  Ignorance of the law was and still is wrong.  We know that because the lawyers, prosecuters and judges have told us.  Disrespect other peoples rights and you will be wrong.

So - what went wrong?

Simple.  Voting became a RIGHT.

One of the most important aspects and characteristics of the United States is the ability and freedom, of it's citizens who legally live here, to cast a vote for something or someone in which they believe.  Far reaching consequences to be sure - but a RIGHT none the less.  How did something this important become a right while driving remains a privilege?

Simple - you can legislate or buy votes.  Votes can be had without the need for education, skill or reason; simple emotion can get someone elected.  Emotion that runs out of control can and will destroy far more than it cures or heals.

SharkyandSharky believe that the privilege to vote should be at least as strict as the privilege to drive.  Tests need to be passed - both knowledge and skill.

Planet Impact Explained

The recent earthquake in Chile had many people across the planet quaking in their boots.  Not to seem trite, an 8.8 Richter Scale quake is major by any account.  To put the event into some kind of scale, NOAA released the following graphic.

The above represents the energy released (66.6 exajoules), and it's subsequent spread across the Pacific.  That's a lot of joules.  But what does it equal in real life you ask?

Well, it is the equivalent of:

"15.8 gigatons of TNT. That's 316 Soviet Tsar nuclear bombs—at 50 megatons, the most powerful ever created—dropping at the same time in the same place."

So, the next time someone chastises you about the car you drive exterminating the planet or that cows producing methane portends the end of the world - tell them to shut the "quake" up. They are only trying to steal your few remaining freedoms.
