July 4th - Indifference Day

Once a year, on this very day, the remnants of the United States celebrate their independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain and the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. Although much as been bandied about as to when the Declaration was officially signed, signed it was by: Thomas Jefferson, John Adams and Ben Franklin. Pomp, circumstance and celebration were to follow every year on this day beginning in July 4, 1776.

Fast forward to July 4, 2011.

Much has changed in this country since that historic day. Not the least of which is the "cultural" makeup of this country. Many of the newly empowered "cultures" possess no culture at all - other than a hell-bent desire to replace your culture with theirs. Sharky&Sharky can no longer turn a blind eye to this trend, and as such have decided it is time to suggest changes to the traditions that until now have represented the Fourth of July.

Let's eat GOAT. Goat is the mainstay of peoples from the Caribbean to the Middle East. Goat is slaughtered in the tradition of Halal, or what is lawful to eat, in the Muslim world. Got that? WHAT IS LAWFUL TO EAT! Break the law and off with your head - an example of the changing culture of the U.S.

Gamel Zayed, an Egyptian Muslim who "moved" to the U.S. in 2001 surely likes what he sees regarding the increased demand for his Halal goat meat. Operating Badr Halal Farms in Shannon, IL., Zayed has seen demand for product skyrocket in recent years. Originally processing 100 head of animals in 2004, Badr Halal Farms now goes through 500 - 600 head a week. Sharky&Sharky are certain a sizable portion of the meat is used to produce Goatbugers and Goatdogs which will become the traditional foods consumed during future July 4th celebrations.

Let's ban FIREWORKS. Everybody knows who invented fireworks - that's right those nasty Chinese - you know the ones who now own much of this country. Each time fireworks are ignited a new Chinese millionaire is made. Fireworks cause burns, wounds, death and start fires. It is difficult to imagine, with the U.S. fear of a bogeyman behind every rock and the likelihood that a child will not be safe, that fireworks are still a large part of the of July 4th celebrations.

Let's change the COLORS. Out with the Red, White and Blue that use to signify the Fourth. In with the Green, Blue, Yellow, Orange and Red - the terrorist threat level colors. We know terrorists exist in every nook and cranny in this country. Just try to board a commercial aircraft. Almost every person in this country is now considered a terrorist if you are not a Muslim - even infants. Along with the never ending liberal reminder of the racial divide between Blacks and Whites, it is time to adopt the new true U.S. colors - maybe even rethink the American Flag.

Benny D Is Still not Addressing the Betrayal and Organizational Failure

Although, the Catholic Church is beginning to act on the child sexual abuse by members of the Catholic clergy, it is not addressing the personal betrayal and its organizational failure through all of its current bureaucracy efforts.

The Catholic Church has been moving on the sexual abuse of minors for some time. This history introduces the penalty in 1983 for:

A cleric who in another way has committed an offense against the sixth commandment of the Decalogue, if the delict (bad act) was committed by force or threats or publicly or with a minor below the age of sixteen years, is to be punished with just penalties, not excluding dismissal from the clerical state if the case so warrants”.

With minor changes until 2001 when then Cardinal Ratzinger (later our own beloved Benny D) issued the Motu:

This new law was promulgated in the motu proprio “Sacramentorum sanctitatis tutela” on 30 April 2001

The relevant point is that the hierarchy ( top bosses) of the Church is to be involved in resolving matters of sexual abuse of a minor; the text of which is:

Art. 6

§ 1. The more grave delicts against morals which are reserved to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith are:

1° the delict against the sixth commandment of the Decalogue committed by a cleric with a minor below the age of eighteen years; in this case, a person who habitually lacks the use of reason is to be considered equivalent to a minor.
2° the acquisition, possession, or distribution by a cleric of pornographic images of minors under the age of fourteen, for purposes of sexual gratification, by whatever means or using whatever technology;

§ 2. A cleric who commits the delicts mentioned above in § 1 is to be punished according to the gravity of his crime, not excluding dismissal or deposition.

Appears to Sharky&Sharky that Benny D saw this minor sexual abuse coming while he was still a cardinal. However the child abuse matter continues to get worse with apology after apology. Here is the intro to apology to the Irish in March of 2010

Dear Brothers and Sisters of the Church in Ireland, it is with great concern that I write to you as Pastor of the universal Church. Like yourselves, I have been deeply disturbed by the information which has come to light regarding the abuse of children and vulnerable young people by members of the Church in Ireland, particularly by priests and religious.

Just to keep things on the straight and narrow in Ireland, Benny D is sending an Apostolic Visitation to Ireland.

In that same year the Church generated an update to Motu. However it does not address anything substantial that is healing:

14. Among the delicta contra mores: a person over 18 years of age who is developmentally disabled is equated to a minor exclusively in regards to art. 6 § 1 n. 1;
15. Also added as delicts are the acquisition, possession or distribution of pornographic images of minors under the age of 14, a clerico turpe patrata, in any way and by any means (art. 6 § 1 n. 2);

Tthe last direction is to develop Guidelines. On May 16, of this year, the Vatican released Circular Letter to Assist Episcopal Conferences in Developing Guidelines for Dealing with Cases of Sexual Abuses of Minors Perpetrated by Clerics. By order of the Pope Benedict XVI, Benny D, each Episcopal Conference  is being directed  to develop guidelines. Such Guidelines would take into account the concrete situation of their jurisdiction within the Episcopal Conference; in the US it is the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).

In order to facilitate the correct application of these norms and other issues related to the abuse of minors, it seems opportune that each Episcopal Conference prepare Guidelines whose purpose will be to assist the Bishops of the Conference to follow clear and coordinated procedures in dealing with these instances of abuse. Such Guidelines would take into account the concrete situation of the jurisdictions within the Episcopal Conference.

The purpose of the Guidelines are to provide a "common orientation" within the Episcopal Conference. The Guidelines are to address approaches and remedies for victims of sexual abuse, the protection of minors, the formation ( meaning the development) of  future priest and religious, support of priests, and cooperation with civil authorities. 

While The Vatican is issuing changes to Canon law, John Jay College of Criminal Justice was commissioned by the USCCB to  study: The Nature and Scope of the Problem of Sexual Abuse of Minors by Catholic Priests and Deacons in the United States. The executive summary states: 

The study of sexual abuse of minors by Catholic priests and deacons {in the US} resulting in this
report was authorized and paid for by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops
(USCCB) pursuant to the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People
(Charter) unanimously adopted by the USCCB at its June 2002 meeting.

 Now any person can become or is a sexual abuser whether a priest or not. However it takes a complicit organization to transfer a priest or keep a priest that is a mutiple abuser. As Sharky&Sharky pointed out in a post last year a major problem is that the Catholic Church is transferring the abusing priests. The John Jay study affirms this point.and and affirms that multiple abusers are being kept in ministry.

• The group of 149 priests, the “10+ group,” {alleged to have committed 10 or more abuses}   account for 26% of all incidents reported in the study.  The 143 priests who were accused in more than one diocese, the “Transfers,” had a lower rate of accusation, but account for 8.7% of all incidents reported in the study.
• The group of 143 priests who received accusations in at least two dioceses or religious
communities were more likely to be identified with substance abuse and behavioral
problems and more likely to be reported to the police.  Overall, 64% of the “Transfer”
group saw their ministry restricted.  

Priests in the Church's administrative organization  must collude to transfer or to keep a known abuser in place. Further like any other formal organization, there is an informal organization that knows the abuser and those that are essential for the the maintenance of the abuser in the Church.  This delict subverts the administrative roles in the Church ; this failure to remove or report an abusing priest from ministry is malfeasance of the aware clerics, a failure to not investigate the abuser is misfeasance and to neglect the delict is nonfeasance. All three situations destroy the integrity of the Church per se as well as in the eyes of the faithful. It is the maintenance of the abuser that is making this period of sexual abuse of minors more prevalent than other periods.

In addition, Sharky&Sharky still insist that the church has a responsibility to abused people far beyond counseling/talking  or sending them an apology as stipulated in the guidelines; there is a need for reconciliation. The abused persons have the right to face their abuser and demand an apology in order to reconstitute themselves as healthy Catholics and/or human beings. This is apart from the abusive priest's civil crimes. The priest must be required to seek the forgiveness of the abused person as part of the priest's penance. How can the priest know the seriousness of his immoral crime unless he bears witness to the pain and suffering of the person he has abused? Reconciliation forces a change in behavior on the abuser; more importantly it provides a path in the Church to learn the organizational depth of the problem and to an  provide an organizational procedure ( both formally and informally) to report the problem.

Neither the Guidelines nor the John Jay study call for this reconciliation. Sharky&Sharky however call for this reconciliation from Benny D.

You're Not A Criminal If You've Got Nothing To Hide

Sharky&Sharky think everyone should immediately pack their bags and head to Cedar Falls, Iowa. No one in that lovely city is a criminal because no one in that lovely city has anything to hide. And do you know why there is nothing to hide?

Because it is now ILLEGAL.

Thanks goodness the fine people of Cedar Falls have finally come to their senses. In an overwhelming vote (6-1) Ordinance 2740 has been made into law. We are glad you asked what is this Ordinance 2740?

Simply put. The government now must have access to any: business, apartment building, commercial building or residence with more than two individual living spaces.  ANYTHING other (as of yet - you can bet this will soon be changed to include single family home) than a single family home. Access MUST be possible via a key or keys stored in a "lockbox" outside said dwelling or business.

How is this possible in the United States of America?

Oh, that's right - KEEPING THE CHILDREN SAFE.

How It Is Sold:
If a building or residence is on fire, the fire department does not want to destroy any doors in order to gain access to fight the fire. Ripping off the roof of the structure while destroying everything inside due to smoke and water damage is just fine. But, the doors must be saved!

What It Really Means:
We thought we smelled smoke and entered the building. And, we thought he was going for a gun - so we shot him dead in front of his children and wife. Sorry.

Muslims Continue to be Muslims and We Continue to not Think Long Term

As Sharky&Sharky has said before Muslims will be Muslims. Of course that was perhaps tongue and cheek but this time it is all ears. More on that droll bit later.

When young people in the middle eastern countries began their rather unfocused freedom demonstrations, and our looney President and our goofy allies started bombing and invading middle eastern countries, it ostensibly was done to support the Arab spring. A popular term for the gathering in the street by unemployed Arab youth. In some countries the youts had no weapons and in other countries the youts had weapons. The end result was typical Muslim chaos. Lets take a quick review shall we.

Saudi Arabia: Contrary to what was first reported, King Abdullah's son, the crown prince is not recently dead. The king's grand nephew is dead. how could this mistake be made. Well the deceased nephew's name is Khalid bin Abdullah bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, the crown prince's name is Khalid bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Please stay focused on this because Saudi Arabia is trying to stop America from moving to Solar and Wind and Nuclear by breaking from the OPEC herd and offering lots of cheap oil to the US. Turkey: New Elections just on Sunday, June 12 ; yep in Muslim tradition the new Leader is the old Leader, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. PM Erdogan has been in power for 8 years. Under his new adminstration he wants to revise the Turkish Constitution; declare himself President. We wants a little more Islam in the government. He wants to stay in power until 2024. (Where do the Muslims get these guys?) Democracy is spelt DICTATORSHIP in Islam.

Tunisia: This is the country where the poor soul of a starving young man, Bouazizi, set himself on fire and started the Arab Spring. All the other young people demonstrated; the then ruler of Tunisia step downed.  There were to be elections to replace the Prime Minister Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, who ruled for 24 years.  Where are they now? The July elections will happen in October. Everyone has agreed.  The ballots will alternate equal number women's and men's name. Definitely an international first. However the Tourist trade is down. Unless you count Libyans who are looking for someplace to hide. There are currently 500,000 Libyans in a country of 10 million Tunisians.  Thus the young Tunisians that had jobs have even fewer jobs and are making less pay. How is that hope and change working for you?

Libya: The reference is to The China Daily. However Sharky&Sharky will not share the reference with you since The China Daily website slipped us a virus. NATO has been bombing Libya for almost three months. Really the bombing has been carried out by only the US, France, and UK. Except for oil there are no institutions in Libya. This means that after all the bombing NATO and the US will have to build a democratic Muslim state (read: oxymoron) from the ground up. Maybe this time we will make a better oil deal. The only thing that we can hope is that we will not commit ground troops to Libya.

Egypt: What a freaking basket case. Sharky&Sharky had predicted the Muslim Brotherhood might takeover. This was to be dreaded. But Muslims will be Muslims, little did the Sharks know how bad it could get. There is a relatively unknown group, the Salafi, an ultra conservative strain of Islam.  It appears that Osama bin Laden and the Saudi Wahabi are Salafi.Well the Salafi are not of the mind that Christians should have any position of power over a Muslim (read: Non-Muslims can cook and clean). To bring that point home in Egypt, the Wall Street Journal reports that a Mr. Mitri had his ear removed to keep his Christian toe  inline:

Five weeks after the fall of the Egyptian regime, Ayman Anwar Mitri's apartment was torched. When he showed up to investigate, he was bundled inside by bearded Islamists. Mr. Mitri is a member of the Christian Coptic minority that accounts for one-tenth of the country's 83 million people. The Islamists accused him of having rented the apartment—by then unoccupied—to loose Muslim women.

Inside the burnt apartment, they beat him with the charred remains of his furniture. Then, one of them produced a box cutter and performed what he considered an appropriate punishment under Islam: He amputated Mr. Mitri's right ear. "When they were beating me, they kept saying: 'We won't leave any Christians in this country,'" Mr. Mitri recalled in a recent interview, two months after the March attack. Blood dripped through a plastic tube from his unhealed wound to a plastic container. "Here, there is a war against the Copts," he said. 

His attackers, who were never arrested or prosecuted, follow the ultrafundamentalist Salafi strain of Islam that promotes an austere, Saudi-inspired worldview. Before President Hosni Mubarak was toppled on Feb. 11, the Salafis mostly confined themselves to preaching. Since then, they've entered the political arena, drawing crowds and swaying government decisions. Salafi militants also have blocked roads, burned churches and killed Copts.

Well it seems that things are not going too well in Egypt. Please note England, France, Libya, and Egypt have been fighting for two centuries. Sharky&Sharky could continue Iraq, Pakistan, Afganistan, Bahrain, and the latest sinkhole Syria. What is consistent in all of these conflicts is that it is Muslim against Muslim. Further most of their institutions and cultures are still in 13th and 14th century except for the weapons we or some other country sells them. Certainly they are pre-Enlightenment.

Defense Secretary Gate is reminding NATO members that they should be spending 2% of their GDP on defense. Sharky&Sharky thinks that this operationalizes as picking a Muslim side in a Muslim country and then fighting the opposing Muslims. While the Muslims on our side turn against us eg President Asif Ali Zardari, who lives 40 minutes away from bin Laden's compound.  It would be more prudent to allow the Christians and Jews and other non-muslims in a Muslim country to have safe haven in the US or Europe and in return we allow all the Muslims in western democracies to go to the Muslim country of their choice. The Muslims could fight one another in their desired land maybe establish a Sultanate or a Caliphate as they have done since the time of Mohammed, while the rest of stop interferring and generating diffraction.

To Serve and Protect...Check That! Aw Fuck It...Shoot Me!

Sharky&Sharky want to thank a unknown man, Raymond Zack, for being our own Tunisia suicide victim. Mr. Zack's death symbolizes the pit that America has fallen to and the rationalizations, cheap excuses, legal avoidance, we now give to justify the sorry asses we have become.


Think about this; bravery was not required. Our hero was not in a burning building. He was a sick person screaming for help by his calm awaiting of death. Here are some quotes from Firegeezer, where you can read a full story. 

The Alameda Police and Fire Departments both responded quickly, but the gathered first-responders just stood on the shore and watched the man. The FD called the U. S. Coast Guard to respond and 20 minutes later they showed up with a boat that was unable to navigate the shallow waters where he man was standing. Next came a call for the Coast Guard's rescue helicopter that was already on another mission. When it was free from that task, it had to be refueled before responding to Alameda and arrived on scene about 65 minutes after the dispatch.

But catch this continued display of governmental uselessness from the NY Post:

The Coast Guard was called to the scene, but the water was too shallow for a boat, according to Lynch, {Almeda Police Lieutenant}. A Coast Guard helicopter was apparently not immediately available.

Firegeezer indicates that:

Reminds one of a shaggy dog tail. Until you hear the poor soul's mother say according to the Chicago Tribune regret not being able to help:

I am too old," Berry told the Oakland Tribune, recounting her stepson Raymond Zack's death on Monday in the waters off Alameda. "But if I could, I would have tried to help him myself." Berry and witnesses who watched Zack, 52, from the shore have criticized police and firefighters for not intervening to prevent his death.

Do you think that these guys are prepared to save a man awaiting drowning:

As you read the references you will see that there a few different excuses being offered:

1. There is no money to train police and fire in water rescue
2. Alameda is not certified in land based water rescues
3. Not my job; it is the Coast Guards job.
4. We followed policy
5. We did not save him for health and safety reasons {obviously not Mr. Zack's health or safety}

But don't worry America or Alameda. Interim Chief Michael D'Orazi states that:

he is going to meet with the police chief to discuss what happened on Sunday. He has also ordered a rewrite of the water rescue policy and has announced that firefighters will begin rescue swimming training immediately. After all ,they work for a city that calls themselves a city of homes and beaches.

Well pass the grits and rewrite the policy. Glad you are on the case Mike.

Well to complete this sorry tale. The body was retrieved by Nurse that happened to be passing by. She swam out 50 yards and brought Mr Zack's remains in.

Firefighters followed department policy, staying out of the water. They even had to rely on a 20-year-old woman to volunteer and retrieve Zack's body from the ocean.

Again thank you Mr. Zack for in your death we see how fucked we have become. Just shoot me!

America's Wars

One thing that has become patently obvious over the last several decades, is that the U.S. must create wars in order to survive. Wars are good for: employment (especially the government kind), economic growth (at least in the military/industrial complex), esprit de corps, political prestidigitation, and a host of other smoke and mirror government B.S.

The sheer number of "wars" that this bankrupt economy is "fighting" has become so large in fact, that there is likely not a single government worker who can name every one of them. War on: poverty, education, terror, drugs, Afghanistan, hunger, homeless, immigration, segregation, Iraq, racism, tobacco, Libya, obesity - and on and on and on.

So, the U.S. can declare "war" on anything and everything it sees fit - whether domestic or foreign. This has been a tried and true method to: raise taxes, pass a bunch of new "laws", increase the number of federal, state and local workers, both admitted and clandestine, and generally keep that average U.S. citizen under the thumb of an ever increasing corrupt government. But what's the fun in that anymore? Plus, it takes time to dot the i's and cross the t's to make everything appear "semi-legal and semi-constitutional." (Remember the constitution? NO? Neither do we.)

It is a lot easier to simply say "XYZ is an ACT OF WAR." Now isn't that easy.

Henceforth any Cyber-Attack (like maybe someone sending Anthony Weiner's weiner shot through cyber-space) can be considered an ACT OF WAR by the U.S.

The U.S. reserves the right to use "all necessary means in order to defend our nation, our allies, our partners and our interests."

The world already knows how much the U.S. loves to launch it's cruise missiles and certainly will use those missiles to protect our oil, commodity, currency, real estate and banking speculators (our interests). OH YEAH, and stop all those cyber-attacks on Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman and Google and Sony (our partners) and etc.

According to the BBC and security firm McAfee, 8 out of 10 countries around the world had critical systems targeted by hackers in 2010. Of course the U.S. is no exception and, as the U.S. is so well liked in much of the world, we can only hope more and more countries attempt to compromise our computer systems. We literally could declare war on a whole bevy of countries.

And all the little elves that make all those wonderful killing devices for the U.S. are going to get filthy rich.

Anthony Weiner - Kosher?

Once considered to be a NYC mayoral candidate, New York Rep. Anthony Weiner has found himself on a sizzling social media BBQ grate just in time for summer.

According to Weiner, a hacker probably, maybe, could be responsible for the lewd (some might say disgusting) crotch shot that was sent via his Twitter account to a 21 year old college student in Seattle, WA, Gennette Cordova. In true politico double speak, Weiner "can't say with certitude" that the crotch shot in question is not him.

Sharky&Sharky can't help but think back to the presidential sexual double speak master - a spouse of one of the players.

For those of you unaware, this is the same Weiner who is married to Hillary Clinton's aide, - née Huma Abedin, aka Mrs. Weiner.

The Weiners have retained legal counsel in order to explore all options. It is curious that neither Weiner called the police or F.B.I. to report this most serious crime.

However this juicy political side dish should turn out, the ingredients make for an unusual recipe: 1 Muslim Woman, 1 Jewish Man, 1 Power Hungry Crazed ex-first Lady now Sec. Of State, 40,000 recipients of the now "infamous - can't say with certitude" crotch shot.
