Mubarak Must be Retired...He Must Go Quickly

Please know dear reader that the Eygptians are not pouring/rioting into the streets because of their sympathy for the young Tunisian, Mohamed Bouazizi who immolated himself. Here is the story from the Star that covers the immolation that started the Tunisia Riots; here is a picture of the poor frustrated fellow burning himself with paint thinner (Sharky&Sharky could only confirm this photo with the Toronto Star):

As word spread of Bouazizi's self-immolation, so did the riots. On the street next to the cafe are charred buildings and boarded-up shop fronts. Several protesters died on this street during clashes with police, witnesses said. On the walls, graffiti voiced the angst of a generation: "The City of Joblessness" and "Let's wage jihad to realize our demands."  

Tunisia was long considered a model country in the region, with high economic growth rates derived largely from tourism, universities, hospitals and good infrastructure. But the wealth remained largely in the hands of the elite. By some estimates, 20 percent to 40 percent of the nation's youth are unemployed, mirroring figures in other Arab countries.

Here from the Wall Street Journal is a short clip of  rioting centralist Egyptians promoting their cause with Mohamed El Baradei, a Nobel Piece Prize laureate. They are against Mubarak's choice, Omar Suleiman, his longtime intelligence chief, as vice president


Sharky&Sharky believe that this alleged revolutionary fervor that has supposedly leaped from Tunisia to Egypt is a western press fairy tale. This is not a sympatico revolution. Whoever heard of such a thing? The revolution in Egypt is the result of poor conditions in Eygpt and the provocations of the Eygptian Muslim Brotherhood. During the current Eygptian riots 34 leaders of the Muslim Brother escaped jailed. It appears that their families let them out.

The US has aided and abetted Egypt's horrible conditions by not demanding that Mubarak, our partner, fix the deplorable dictatorial conditions in his country. There is no way any dictatorial government can fix the economic conditions of this country.Each person's imagination must be set free. Currently Egypt has nothing that the rest of the world wants to buy, and it has no infrastructure to distribute and sell anything. Enough complaining about the past. What to do and why about the future?

President Mubarak has been an effective and essential catalyst for implementing US foreign policy in the Middle East. Our policies must change. The US has failed to nuture democracy in Eygpt. The resultant is that riots and mobocracy are in the street.  However El Baradei, Suleiman nor young people in the street will be enough to manage Egypt for long, if at all, leaving ample opportunity for Muslim Bortherhood to ally with Al Qaeda and convert Egypt into Afghanistan. This may well lead to renewed dictatorship ala Iran. The first thing that must happen is Mubarak must go, a modest home in Oklahoma would be sufficient. How soon? No later than February 1, 2011. A temporary government must be put in place to write a new constitution for Egypt.   Eygpt now needs a democratically elected leader and a representative legislature. This Constitution must be written based on classical liberalism without ethnic or religious dictates. Futher the developers of the Constitution should be skeptical of communitarianism. The country's name should drop the word Arab. The Arabs were a conquering people of Eygpt and not an indigenous Egyptian people. Also the word Islamic should not be introduced in the new Constitution. Notice all the videos of the Egyptian revolution; there are no women. Are they to be continually squashed? The word "Islamic" insures that women will not have an equal voice. Everything should be done to develop a Constitution before the end of the summer and to have formal elections under the new Constitution before the end of 2011.

Failing this immediacy, radical Islam will take hold in Eygpt with the its associated bloodshed, backward looking, and dictatorship; the Muslim Brotherhood will see to that. Islam abhors a true democracy.

Fibonacci

The Fibonacci sequence has awed scientists, mathematicians, biologists and the like since it was first postulated in Indian mathematics by Pingala around 200BC and later studied by Leonardo of Pisa who was also known as Fibonacci ~1200AD.

The next number in the sequence is the sum of the two previous numbers in the sequence. i.e. 0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13...∞. 0 and 1 by definition are the first two numbers. Following, is a remarkable video showcasing the sequence as it appears a few times in nature. It is worth noting that this sequence appears everywhere you look - if you look for it. Enjoy.

President Hu's Repo List...The real state of the Union

After his brief stay in the US, China's President Hu has left a short repossession list. It will become apparent after tonight's State of the Union give away program that it is time for China to start repossessing  parts of the US. All President Obama will do tonight is continue to eviscerate the American economy. Everyone hearing this evening's speech on Tuesday January 25, 2011 will be looking for the state of unity in the President's State of the Union Speech; Sharky&Sharky will hearing the affirmation of the state or promise of disunity.
The President will mostly likely give a speech filled with flowing oratory and people based tear rendering examples. However the rhetoric will be intended to continue the economic evisceration
Depending on your sources the US owes China from $.9T to $1.7T. Here is a quote from the Washington Times:

Mr. Johnson, a former chief economist for the International Monetary Fund, estimated that China owns about $1 trillion in U.S. Treasury securities, or nearly half the $2.37 trillion stock of Treasury debt held by “foreign official” owners.

The amount of U.S. debt held by China is even higher than that, said Eswar Prasad, an economist at Cornell University.

Under the widely held assumption that 70 percent of China’s $2.4 trillion in foreign exchange reserves is invested in dollar-denominated bonds, Mr. Prasad told the commission that China probably holds about $1.7 trillion in U.S. government debt.

That would include the more than $400 billion in debt issued by U.S. government agencies, such as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, whose obligations are liabilities of the U.S. government, Mr. Prasad said.

We all know how good that Fannie and Freddie collateral is. For those who want the precise numbers by countries here is the US Treasury site. Here is chart from a nonofficial source by smfrogers that is only meant to give you a picture of the situation.

In an effort to ameliorate China's anticipated losses when the US joins Ireland and Greece, President Hu in an exclusive gave Sharky&Sharky the short list of China's repros. China will be demanding that the following be handed over to cover our debt. Sharky&Sharky's have included comments:

(8)NASA: China is Demanding NASA immediately. Why Immediately? The US is gutting NASA and the talent will be lost. There is only one future missions planned for NASA. The Japanese are providing meals on wheels service to the International Space Shuttle. The US is planning to use the Russians as our taxi service to from space in that Barry and Congress will put US's meager funds into its fruitless give away programs. China and Russia will find something for the US to do in space. How about teaching rap and hip hop to Martians? Perhaps our days of innovation and creativity are over.

(7) Drone missile technology: Good Choice! China already has stealth bomber technology. China has already paid for their stealth technology; it would be a great aid to the Red Army if they could jump right into the drone technology feet first.

(6)  Abrams tank technology: Another excellent choice. This will make China  the badass mamba jamba in Asia.


(5) All US Carbon Credit offsets. Wow These China boys are thinking long term. Since the US is going Green with all the money that China has lent the US, thus China is entitled to the offsets. China will need the offsets in that they will continue to produce billions of tonnes of carbon dioxide to deliver the products that the world demands. Also China will use the offsets to keep everyone's respect.

(4)General Motors; The US owns GM; thus the US can sell GM to China. China already owns $500M of GM. The China consumer is GM's largest customer, 2.35M cars sold in China, and it is not profitable for GM to return the profits from China to the US. According to BusinessWeek Chambers CEO of Cisco:

Chambers, 61, has said that he wants to bring at least $30 billion in cash back to the U.S. and that tax laws make it too expensive to do so. He’s called for a tax repatriation break,

The US might as well leave all the money in China. China will sell the US all the Cadillacs and Chevy trucks and Corvettes that the US desires.

(3) Walmart: These folk really know how to distribute. They are in China today. they are doing very well.

Now with these six items, China will be very very happy and we in the US will owe China nothing. Barry can spend and help all of the poor people and the poor nations all over the world.

You say what about 2 and 1. President Hu says, "Forget about it".

We dominate all of your top universities; look at your campi and see our people are the dominant minority. China is the only country upon which the US has college entry limiting quotas.  We already do all of your manufacturing. Look at your eye glass frames; they are from China. Look at your IPOD's, Dell Computer's. If it was not for China you could not even have Christmas lights. Like I said forget about 2 and 1. You really have nothing left. I think as you Americans say, 'you are a pussy'.

At Least It's Not Guns

We all know that Arizona has been in the news a lot lately - by in large for the wrong reasons. The underlying theme for these appearances has been either gun related or conservative politic. Now, from Phoenix, comes this - Honor Killing.

Sharky&Sharky have written in the past about this time "honored" tradition of the Muslim world and we expect to see this behavior (we'll just call it mercy murder) surface again and again.

Mr. Faleh Hassan Almaleki apparently decided enough was enough when he jumped into his Jeep and slammed it into his daughter Noor and her boyfriend's mother. The reason for the rampage - Noor had become too "Westernized" and therefore had to die.

Are these the type of individuals America should welcome with open arms, encourage to practice their religious beliefs, and cause our society to adapt to their demands? Say goodbye to a very pretty girl whose only "crime" was being born into the wrong "religion."

Political correctness will be the death of America.

Even Rarer Earth (not the band)

Back in February of last year, we at Sharky&Sharky warned of an impending crisis related to rare earth mineral production. (See The Dearth Of Rare Earth story) Well dear readers, the chicken has come home to roost. China announced today that the Chinese government has expropriated the entire industry due to "illegal" strip mining and it's resultant pollution. You have to wonder how someone can keep a strip mine hidden.

In addition, Hu Jintao reminded us, the U.S., that China intends to reduce production of said mines by 10% this year. Whoops - looks like that Prius or GM (Government Motors) Volt just got a whole lot more expensive. Not to mention the cost of all the high-tech gadgets we have come to love and depend on. So not only are we logarithmically adding to our Chinese debt, but soon we won't be able to afford the computers to calculate the interest on it.

We hate to pat ourselves on the back - but don't say we didn't warn ya'.

Whammer Jammer

Just as predicted back on January 9th, the Obama Spin Team (OST) is in full swing. Sharky&Sharky warned this would happen and happen it has - although no one could have predicted how fast.

Our old buddy - spend and kill Defense Secretary Robert Gates - is increasing the urgency (read amount spent wasted on yet another must have project which will no doubt make those in the inner circle even wealthier) of the NGJ. What, you may ask, is the meaning of this three letter government acronym? Why it's the Next Generation Jammer. Ah yes, generation after generation after generation ad nausea. Spend kill, spend kill rinse repeat.

WTF: Mr. Limbaugh, Mr. Limbaugh you hurt my feelings...Hu's on First

It appears that Mr. Rush Limbaugh has hurt the political sensitivities of our Chinese American politicians US Rep Judy Chu and San Francisco State Senator Leland Yee as well as other Chinese Americans. Mr Yee is famous in California for leading the charge to pass a law that ok's speaking a foreign language in  your own business. (President Hu when you return to China, take Mr. Yee with you and show him how China treats people that try to speak openly. Mr Yee can you say Liu Xiaobo.)

This is true WTF. People get American rights (like Congresswoman Chu and Leland, can I call you Leland well I guess I just did)  and unlike Martin Luther King they do not expand on those rights and liberties they use their liberties to shut people up...WTF.

Here is Limbaugh trying to be funny. Personally Sharky&Sharky think that he could have been funnier. Here is the KTVU site that has a nice clip which appears to be nonembedable (Thanks KTVU), with comments by local offended civic leaders. I will apologize if it turns out to be that I could easily embed the site.

Now lets talk. First Mr. Limbaugh is a news commentator, an opinionator, and a satirist. Second this is still America. Satire seems to be a lost art or it is only to be used by those that are on the left against those on the right. Satire and ridicule are part of freedom of speech, especially the ridiculing of a political leader, whose primary message is, "I have come to bury you; however since I have so many of your bonds I will bury you in style". We find JR's (that is Reverend Wright to those outside of Chicago) comments to be ok and acceptable but not Mr. Limbaugh's. If Mr. Limbaugh were a Black, Hispanic, or Muslim would then his comments be as acceptable as JR's were to President Obama for two decades.

No matter how inane you feel Mr. Limbaugh's comments are he has the right and the liberty to say them. If you take or mute this right in anyway you trammel on all of our rights to speak out. The American Chinese are at base American's They should view his "chinese speak" as humourous or failed humor. If they begin to feel this false indignity as adults that all children (Yes All children) felt in school at being called physiological or culturing disparaging names then join the long suffering White Americans of European origin, American Indians, Black Americans, the Hispanic Americans, and the newly suffering Muslim Americans, and everyone else that has a gripe. During all of this moaning and false pain, you will miss the point on being an American. And you will miss the point that President Hu deliberately glided his comments on poor human rights over to speaking on growing opportunities for economic development in China.

In that we are requesting apologies, I want one from the Chinese. An apology is demanded for the satirical efforts of the Chinese Backstreet Boys. Their funny but demeaning imitation of one of America's beloved institutions erodes the trust and respect that our two countries should have for each other.

Last Man Standing

Even people with cheese in their noggins have finally realized the folly of preventing Americans from opting to legally carry concealed handguns. Were it not for someone doing just that, the tragedy in Arizona would have probably been much worse. Guns are a great equalizer and must be made available to those that choose to carry them.

Wisconsin has twice passed legislation allowing for concealed carry permits only to have it vetoed by - you guessed it - Democrat Governor Jim Doyle. Now that the people of Wisconsin have finally dumped the democrat dupe and replaced him with Republican Scott Walker, Walker says he expects concealed carry permits to be available as early as this spring.

So, what is the ONLY remaining state to not allow concealed handguns? That's right - Illinois.

Food For Thought...UPDATE

Who would have guessed that in four short years the percentage of Americans who depend on the government for assistance in putting food on the "table" would have almost doubled? No one would have believed it.

As the chart above clearly indicates, the number of affected people has gone from 26 Million to almost 44 Million. Or even scarier, since Obama took office the number of additional Americans with their hands out for food has increased by almost 17 Million. Now that's some kind of leadership!

If the trend continues, and there is no reason for it to abate, this fact alone could lead to increased pressure on an already heavily stressed economy. As more people struggle to provide food for themselves and their families, discretionary spending will continue to drop placing financial burden on already stressed economic sectors - causing further escalation in food stamp program participation and economic shrinkage. A downward spiral to say the least.

One suggestion which should immediately be considered is the ban on food stamps being used in exchange for "fast food." Not only is the food substandard and the long term health consequences dismal, but the nutritional value is prohibitively expensive - especially since someone else is paying for it. Sharky&Sharky believe the time to get out from under the crushing weight of the "golden arches" is long overdue.

UPDATE...CBS SUNDAY MORNING Jan 16 2011:
After a story on how the the famous JFK inaugural speech was written. You know the one that has the quote, "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country". Well it appears that CBS did a survey and the results are in that confirm the food dependency: 

79% of Americans are more interested in what our country can do for them. And only 15% said they were more interested in what they could do for their country

Sharky&Sharky ask the lost 6% to join us in the 15% to do the hard work to shorten the handout lines and put America back on the world leadership jetway.

Dr. Gonzales we are not following your lecture

At the Tucson memorial service on January 13, 2011 for the nine victims killed in Tucson, Dr. Carlos Gonzales, a Pascua Yaqui Indian and fifth generation Arizonan gave a blessing, which Sharky&Sharky believes was lost on everyone. Well it was certainly lost on Sharky&Sharky.


After several minutes of ethnic pride, what was this blessing's purpose? Was the blessing to bring solice to the families and loved one of the victims? Was the blessing to evoke a common root upon which the Tucson community could rebuild anew? Or was the blessing another tacky display like the T-Shirts handed out at the memorial.

It is generally agreed that the purpose of the Tucson memorial was to express a national sympathy with the grieving families. The President's homily helped on that score somewhat; all the other trappings did not. We did not need the cheering, the shirts, and an odd Indian blessing for deceased Catholics/Christians and a Jew. Sharky&Sharky also wish that the President would have expressed concern for the sick young man, Mr Loughner.

The Pima Community College could have connected the dots and surmised that Mr Loughner was sick and getting sicker (LA Times):

Loughner would grin, speak gibberish, laugh to himself and clench his fists, said Steven Cates, 21, one of three poetry students who said they feared Loughner would bring a gun to school.

Amy Jensen, 26, said she dropped the class because Loughner created a "chemistry of uneasiness.... He just creeped me out." She said she pictured him with a gun.

Cates said he tried to strike up conversations with Loughner when he'd see him on campus. He said he had a gut feeling about Loughner: "If something did happen, maybe I wouldn't be on his list of targets."From the first day of a summer algebra class, the instructor and students were unsettled. "How can you deny math instead of accepting it?" he challenged the instructor, Ben McGahee.

"One lady came to me at the end of class and said, 'I'm really scared for my life,'" said McGahee, who alerted administrators.

The next day at 8:20 a.m., school counselor DeLisa Siddall pulled Loughner out of class to talk.

"He gives me this dark, evil look like, 'You're trying to single me out; you're trying to get at me,'" McGahee said.

Siddall, who recounted the conversation in an e-mail to the math department chair and others, told Loughner he had been disruptive.

"He said he paid $200 for the class, so he should have the right to speak," she wrote. He also told her that he felt "scammed" because he had taken other courses, failed them and not gotten his money back.

"This student was warned," Siddall concluded. "Since his resolution was to remain silent in class and successfully complete the course, I had no grounds to keep him out of class."

A report on the disturbance was filed June 3 with campus police.

During the second week of class, Loughner shaved his head. He continued to have outbursts, but at other times would withdraw, doodle and listen to his iPod.

On June 14, in an e-mail to a friend that was provided to the Washington Post, Loughner's classmate Lynda Sorenson wrote: "We have a mentally unstable person in the class that scares the living crap out of me. He is one of those whose picture you see on the news, after he has come into class with an automatic weapon.... I sit by the door with my purse handy."

After Loughner accused McGahee of violating his 1st Amendment rights, administrators removed him from the class.

In the fall semester, trouble began almost immediately. This time, it was during biology.

Loughner turned in an assignment late and was told by his instructor that he would receive only half credit. Loughner's reaction was so intimidating, the instructor called campus police.

"Loughner was insistent that his freedom of speech was being taken away," the Sept. 23 police report said. The officer noted that during questioning, Loughner's head "was constantly tilted to the left and his eyes were jittery and looking up to the left."

Mr. Loughner's actions provided Pima Community College enough information that it could have strongly urged, if they cared, that Mr Loughner be classified. Quoting Gov Rendell:

Had this man been classified, had he been committed civilly at any time prior to his purchasing the gun from Wal-Mart, he would have in fact been denied access to that firearm

Sharky&Sharky ask why does American spend any blood and treasure on these Islamists. Recently an American soldier was shot to death in Iraq by Iraqi soldiers that he was training. All of these countries wasting our treasure and blood. Our government is destroying our economy by supporting these corrupt Islamist regimes.

Let us walk away from any interaction with these countries; let them kill each other. Let use our blood and treasure to rebuild America.

Minneapolis - A OGay

In what must be a stunning "blow" for Sanfransissyco, Minneapolis has been named the "Gayest" city in the U.S. according to the Advocate - the national gay news magazine from Los Angeles. One wonders how a city can attain such a lofty goal. Sharky&Sharky bet it takes a lot of rock-solid hard work.

Citing the number of gay elected officials, lesbian bars, gay-friendly congregations, and get this - gay yellow page listings, it seems Minneapolis (claiming a 12.5% gay population) won the title leaving the other cities in the dust Brokeback Mountain style.

Minneapolis' lover St. Paul, didn't make the list.

Love Canal In The Love Canal

Women To Be Banned By The EPA

It use to be that women were often studied by going to the beach and watching the lovely lasses lazily stroll up and down the strand. No more. Now they are being scrutinized by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). Why you ask? Because they are not only a repository for male reproductive emissions but are rapidly becoming toxic waste dumps according to a study that tracked 268 pregnant women during 2003-2004.

Many chemicals that have been banned for decades are now found in pregnant women. These include: PCB's, PFC's, PDBE's and a bunch of other P type chemicals.

"We should be concerned about the number of chemicals pregnant women have in their bodies..." said Tracey Woodruff, director of the Program on Reproductive Health and the Environment, at you guessed it, University of California - San Francisco.

The U.S. Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976 hasn't been updated since it's inception. Sharky&Sharky think it's long overdue and only the government can help. Eliminate the problem now. Knee-jerk reactions have worked in the past and should work just as well today.

Soon a good-night kiss may mean, "good night" forever.

Sexed Not SexEd

At Frayser Middle/High School in Memphis, TN, they sure know how to get their boogie on. Recently released data shows that there are approximately 90 teen pregnancies out of a student population of 978. With 52% of the student population being female, this leads to a pregnancy rate of almost 20%. That's a lot of new babies that someone other than the biological mother and father are going to have to support.

"When we would come back from summer break there would be a thousand people pregnant." We were like, 'What's going on?'" joked Alicia Williamson, 2004 Frayser grad. Yeah that's a real joke Alicia.

What info do you suppose we can glean from this? It should come as no surprise that:

     98% of the school population is not white
     95% of the school population gets free lunch
      5% of the school population is entitled to a reduced
      lunch price
And in this lovely school district they spend $9,356 per student per year on their "education." You would think within that vast sum they could give each girl a box of condoms.

Boss - I Want A 66% Raise - NOW

Don't you wish that you could just walk into your boss' office, demand and get a 66% raise no questions asked. Well you can if you are the Illinois state government. Just as easy as finding a genie in a bottle, rubbing it and having your wish granted. Is this a great country or what?

Lawmakers The organized government crime syndicate of Illinois passed the record setting increase in - you guessed it - record time. Never looking back, never accepting accountability for their collective ineptness or corruptness, they simply stated this "temporary measure" was absolutely, positively no-questions-asked necessary to prevent fiscal meltdown.

What's the money to be used for you ask? Paying past due bills - those that amount to $8.7 Billion - absolutely NOT. It is to be used for the continued practice of buying votes. Businesses waiting for monies owed them for goods and service already supplied to Illinois - wait - businesses are nasty private sector things and must be eliminated - will just have to suffer. TOO bad. Government needs money for more government. It's only temporary. Just like the federal income tax.

Don't try to blame this on the Republican party or those in the general assembly just being sworn in. This legislation was rushed through prior to them taking the oath of office today at noon. Hmmm - who does that sound like? OBAMA?

The Haitian Debacle

To live in tents and die in tents, this is the intent for all the money you spent to aid Haiti

A long year after the earthquake that devastated the Haitian capital of Port-Au-Prince, disturbing information has come to light. Of the 200 "aid" groups who collected vast sums of U.S. dollars under the benign guise of providing necessary capital to rebuild Haiti, when queried as to where those dollars ended up only 38 responded with any information. These 38 aid groups, alone, raised ~$1.4 Billion and have so far spent $700 Million. ON WHAT? Who knows how much money the other 162 aid groups raised who refused to respond.

The Global Red Cross for instance, has constructed somewhere around 300 "temporary semi-permanent" housing structures (resembling garden sheds) with some of the 500 Million they alone raised. At approximately $1.5 Million per garden shed, that's a hell of a deal. Of course much more money is needed to continue this magnificent effort as guesstimates put the number of "sheds" needed at 30,000. At this rate, to construct all the sheds needed - whose life expectancy is 10 years - would take 100 years. Does anyone see a problem with this math? Certainly the Red Cross has provided other assistance, but the above example shows just how corrupt these kind of "relief" efforts turn out to be.

And of course the Haitian government itself, like any other "Western" government, only wants the best for it's people. That's why they demand a 40% up front tax on all goods entering the country even if they are relief assistance goods. So trucks that were paid for by donations sit idle near the Port-Au-Prince airport because no one has greased the palms of "government officials" demanding cash. OST - Obama Spin Team

All aboard the industrial-military express train that is the U.S. government. This train makes only one stop - your wallet. Cleans it out in a flash and disappears down the track like a speeding bullet.

After the recent elections massacre which occurred in the House of Representatives, the Obama Spin Team is out in full force spreading more fear, uncertainty and doubt concerning among other things, the Chinese military and it’s bevy of “worrisome new advances” according to none other than Obama’s defense secretary Robert Gates. As this country devolves further into a jingoist police state, it is imperative that the military budget continue to grow and grow, and Mr. Gates is going to see to it. What better way than to constantly tell the American public that new and improved weapons are continuously needed for their “safety”, when a large part of weapons research is primarily designed for domestic control.

"They clearly have potential to put some of our capabilities at risk," spouted Gates on his way to China, believe it or not, for "military talks." "We have to pay attention to them." REALLY?

China's claimed defense budget is ~76 Billion US, but military strategists guess the true amount is closer to twice that - or 150 Billion. Much of the money has been spent on a 5th generation "stealth" fighter, currently named the J20 that by Western standards shows 25 year old technology.

Also in the works is a ballistic missile designed primarily to neutralize a U.S. aircraft carrier. Hence all the hand wringing. China is coming to get us!

So why the need for spin? When the 2010 defense budget was signed into law on October 28, 2009 the total, including "overseas contingency operations", was ~680 Billion. Let's do the math.

     U.S. defense budget per person (including illegals) almost $2,000 each

     China defense budget per person (no illegals) only $115 U.S. each - assuming the inflated budget figure of $150 Billion

So a family of 5 in the U.S., owes close to $10,000 per year for their collective national "safety." This does not include all various police departments required to keep you safe from the person on the street. Think about it. That kind of money makes a lot of people very rich and the vast majority of us very poor.

And that's the way Obama wants to keep it - status quo like the administrations before him. No matter the new Congressmen and women's promises for government fiscal responsibility, fear helps prevent the government monster from shrinking.


In the near future, Sharky&Sharky expect to see many more mainstream media F.U.D. stories about the "Red Menace" and our self-inflicted "domestic menace".

Lesson 1 2011 The US has Little that the Rest of the World Wants to Buy

The US Census trade deficit latest numbers, October 2010, indicate a $38B ( oh let us write that out $38,000,000,000) going the wrong way. Our most significant trade deficits are with with three countries:

•The goods deficit with China decreased from $27.8 billion in September to $25.5 billion in October. Exports increased $2.1 billion (primarily soybeans) to $9.3 billion, while imports decreased $0.2 billion (primarily household goods, computer accessories, and apparel) to $34.8 billion.

•The goods deficit with the European Union increased from $6.1 billion in September to $7.1 billion in October. Exports increased $1.5 billion (primarily pharmaceutical preparations; artwork, antiques, stamps, etc.; and passenger cars) to $21.8 billion, while imports increased $2.6 billion (primarily pharmaceutical preparations; passenger cars; and artwork, antiques, stamps, etc.) to $29.0 billion.

•The goods deficit with Mexico was virtually unchanged at $5.8 billion in October. Exports increased $1.3 billion (primarily natural gas, fuel oil, and soybeans) to $15.4 billion, while imports increased $1.3 billion (primarily crude oil and TV's and VCR's) to $21.1 billion.

Let us look closely at the largest trading partner, China. Now what is it the US can offer China? What is that that China wants?

Sharky&Sharky have a few associates that are in the Big C. They have toured Walmart in China and sent back a few photos of what the Chinese are buying. Of course the Chinese do not have the US nanny state restrictions on their products and they tell their environmentalist where the train stops. Since we are a nanny state and we have so many enironmentalist concerns, The US will not be able to supply the products that Chinese truly desire. The net is that China supplies products that we desire: Iphones, Ipads, Ipods, HP and Dell computers etc (see FOXXCONN), and thus they will provide job for their citizens. (Not to worry, not to many illegal aliens in China). By the By, India is predicting they will create 10,000,000 jobs for their citizens in 2011. But Sharky&Sharky digress. Back to China and a day at Walmart, let's will start in the grocery sections:

Passing Gas - Pennsylvania's Government Stinks

From the state that OK'ed spying on your children through their laptops because - well just because they said so (probably to keep them "safe") - comes this.

The frenzy that has overcome Pennsylvania's Marcellus Shale Formation (link) as greedy companies and individuals clamor for rights to drill for natural gas by fracking, has produced disturbing developments. The most serious of which is the wanton pollution of rivers, streams and groundwater from which PA residents get their drinking water. What is equally disturbing is that the state could not account for ~1.28 million barrels (with an M) - 1/5 of the total barrels of toxic waste produced during a 12 month period. This waste contains among other chemicals: trihalomethanes (as a result of bromide reacting with chlorine), dissolved salts, barium, radium and other chlorides.

In 2009 and 2010 Cabot Oil & Gas transported ~ 44,000 barrels of well waste water to a treatment facility in Hatfield Township (a suburb if Philadelphia) and they were simply dumped into a creek. The Beaver County Times points out:

Pennsylvania is rare among gas-producing states in that it allows the wastewater that flows out of natural gas wells to be disposed of in rivers.

In most states, drillers are required to send the liquid back down deep shafts so it can't pollute surface water.

Drilling companies use about 2 million gallons of water a day in Pennsylvania to help get at the gas locked in its vast underground Marcellus Shale gas field. During a process called hydraulic fracturing [aka, fracking], the water _ mixed with sand and chemicals, some of them toxic _ is forced into the wells at high pressure, shattering the shale and releasing trapped gas.

The irresponsibility of Pennsylvania is absolutely unconscionable when the siren call of government is the non-stop pounding for citizens to take responsibility for their own actions. WHERE IS GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABILITY?

Wait just a minute now. Certain institutions in the U.S. cannot be tampered with - or can they? A "super" sleuth in Austin, TX has uncovered something quite alarming, something sickeningly sweet, something dastardly and something that just might be the beginning of the end.

If the federal government get it's way, and they almost always do, this development spells doom for the masses who enjoy extra-large sugary carbonated beverages. Bowing to pressure, 7-11 has reduced the size of its Super Big Gulp from 44 to 40 ounces - a reduction of almost 10% for those of you who are math challenged. But the price remains the same. Why?

Sharky&Sharky can't wait until federal and state taxes on sugar skyrocket like they have for alcohol, tobacco and gasoline (remember over HALF the price paid for these products are TAXES). Oh, and see that second hand fat in the picture - that's likely a "bully" and we ALL know that bullies are now illegal.

When Is A State Secret A Secret

As the fallout from the recent Wikileaks dump continues to irradiate the U.S. and it’s allies, a curious insidious development is beginning to take shape. This pertains to the first amendment - you know the one about free speech - which essentially protects journalists from prosecution by the various levels of government. It does not however equally protect the leaker. These types of prosecutions use to be bastion of Communist or Third World countries, but it seems the U.S. now wants in. Claims it's secrets have been stolen leaked by naughty people.

It is interesting to note that the U.S. government and it’s infinite subsidiaries continue to reward “whistle blowers” who leak any and all info given them that relates to it’s citizenry or it’s corporate partners or whoever is the “enemy of the day.” That type of leaking is just fine and dandy. But Oh No, don’t let any citizen learn what this government is really up to.

As the prosecution prepares to go after the “bad” guys for leaking "state secrets"- Sarah Palin urged (maybe we should send Sarah over to Europe with a moose rifle, a bag of jerky and a can of Skoal) we pursue Mr. Assange as forcefully as we prosecute the Taliban or Al Qaeda even going to the point of using the Espionage Act of 1917 - which has never before been used with respect to journalism.

Rep Cantor Introduces BIll to Repeal Obamacare

The Act to repeal Obamacare has the Title "Repealing the Job-Killing Health Care Law Act". The Act is currently only two pages long. It was introduced by the incoming House majority leader, Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.). Image of Act below:

Sharky&Sharky have been against Obamacare from the beginning. Thus repealing it is a great start. This slate must be wiped cleaned and considered anew. Why?

The original complex law, Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010, was pushed through Congress in haste. The Senate could not deliberate on the House bill. The Senate could not change the House bill. Words were misused for effect: for example insurance for pre-existing conditions. What the hell does that mean? Well perhaps it is not insurance but welfare. Well call it welfare. It is another free lunch. The American Taxpayer is paying for many free lunches; do not try to hide another one from us.

The original law is now being manipulated in the regulation process to include items like "death panels" that had been excluded from the original law. Keeping twenty-six year old adults on their parents insurance in general is again actions that should not be in the bill. They are adults. The new health law should tell the truth about costs and let the American taxpayers decide if they want to pay for it.

Are there policies that America can enact to move our health care systems into the twenty-first century, of course. But first lets debate them, speak plainly about them, determine the true cost and then decide.

Sharky&Sharky starts its second year. Like everyone else Sharky&Sharky wants to make a couple of New Year's Resolutions. The first resolution is that Sharky&Sharky will post at least four posts a week. Sharky&Sharky's second resolution is that the articles will express more honest and direct opinions. Hopefully those opinions will guide you in your political and policy life as a hard working American or someone desirous of becoming a legal hard working American. The outcome that is desired is that we citizens keep on throwing the bums out until we get intelligent elected officials that can help America return to greatness.

Now let's see what is going on: On January 1, Al Qaeda, having nothing else to do appears to have blown up a Coptic Christian Church in Egypt (LA Times). This portends that the Islamists are going to be up to correcting the Fitna (mischief) of the Christians this year (Christian mischief? just being Christians in a Muslim country).

There are some that are claiming that the Jews blew up the church but Sharky&Sharky are betting on the Islamists. Going one step further, maybe the Coptics blew up their own church. The local Muslim Brotherhood averred that no religion could tolerate such a crime. They support Hamas and are against Mubarak.

The Eygptian leader, President Mubarak will run for his sixth term, twenty nine years is not enough. However if anyone speaks out against the Mubarak government in Eygpt then they are arrested.  Here is a a story from MRZINE by Reed Lindsay:
