Don't Speak Chick-fil-A...Unless Your Speech is PC

This is Dan Cathy;

He is the top man at Chick-fil-A. He has list of credentials that Sharky&Sharky think are rather remarkable and certainly prove that he is an OK fellow. Mr. Cathy also is on the Board of Morehouse College; Rev Martin Luther King went there as an undergrad. However, the Mayors of Chicago, Boston, Pittsburgh, and San Francisco are contemplating and announcing to the media that they may/will deny licenses to operate to Chick-fil-A. Of course, this is as stupid as denying a permit to the Ground Zero Mosque. In all cases the denial of rights to a specific entity leads to horrible unintended unconstitutional consequences for many entities.

What did Mr. Cathy say that has all the mayors so upset? Quoting from the Baptist Press:

Some have opposed the company's {Chick-fil-A's}support of the traditional family. "Well, guilty as charged," said Cathy when asked about the company's position.
"We are very much supportive of the family -- the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that.
"We operate as a family business ... our restaurants are typically led by families; some are single. We want to do anything we possibly can to strengthen families. We are very much committed to that," Cathy emphasized.
"We intend to stay the course," he said. "We know that it might not be popular with everyone, but thank the Lord, we live in a country where we can share our values and operate on biblical principles."  

For this, the Mayors are going to deny business licenses to Chick-fil-A in their respective towns. Is this over reach? Is there such a desperation for the LGBT vote that the mayors are going to trample on others' rights to speak their conscience to buy the LGBT votes? Has the LGBT become a new protected community?

Sharky&Sharky state that if a American Muslim businessman said the something comparable, such as the following:

The LGBT community is ripping Mr. Cathy's religious/marriage affirmations and applying economic pressure not for LGBT freedoms' sake per se, but for the privilege to monopolize and define the terms of the various marriage law debates such that all who have a view different from LGBTs' are deemed bigots or are to be destroyed. More importantly, in partnership with the overreaching mayors, we have another branch of government discomfiting our rights by threating to deny license/access to legal businesses

Mr. Cathy's statements seems to be a homologous to what the Catholic church would say. Is the Catholic Church next? The Chicago Cardinal George, Archbishop of Chicago, states it as follows:

CHICAGO, ILL (Catholic Chicago Blog) - Recent comments by those who administer our city seem to assume that the city government can decide for everyone what are the "values" that must be held by citizens of Chicago.  I was born and raised here, and my understanding of being a Chicagoan never included submitting my value system to the government for approval. Must those whose personal values do not conform to those of the government of the day move from the city?  Is the City Council going to set up a "Council Committee on Un-Chicagoan Activities" and call those of us who are suspect to appear before it?  I would have argued a few days ago that I believe such a move is, if I can borrow a phrase, "un-Chicagoan."

This was in response to the Chicago's Mayor Rahm Emanul's comment:

Asked last week whether the chain that specializes in chicken sandwiches should be allowed to expand in Chicago, Emanuel said, “Chick-fil-A’s values are not Chicago values. They’re not respectful of our residents, our neighbors and our family members. And if you’re gonna be part of the Chicago community, you should reflect Chicago values.”  

Sharky&Sharky refute Mayor Emanuel's and Chicago commitment to values when the to date murder count in Chicago at 228 is twice the battle field deaths in Afghanistan.

Now to demonstrate that people are committed Chick-fil-A values, Mike Huckabee declared Aug 1 Chick Fil-A Appreciation Day. The company said: Well the response was overwhelming

"We are very grateful and humbled by the incredible turnout of loyal Chick-fil-A customers on August 1 at Chick-fil-A restaurants around the country. We congratulate local Chick-fil-A Owner/Operators and their team members for striving to serve each and every customer with genuine hospitality," the company said in a statement. "While we don't release exact sales numbers, we can confirm reports that it was a record-setting day."  

Mike Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor and Fox News host who initially made the call for patrons to show up for "Appreciation Day," also said Thursday that the turnout went beyond "anything I could have imagined."

What is the take away? (1) The Chicken is pretty good (2) Apparently Americans do not like to see nice guys pushed around by government (3) LGBT folk should learn to use their attack tactics more prudently and thereby prevent backfire and message lost (4) read the Sharky&Sharky blog post on Sharriage.

Love and Sharriage

All of the LGBT folk are kicking up a fuss about how they want to get married. But, they have no concern about their manifest selfishness. They are just looking out for themselves. They have no compassion for anyone else. Here is an example of their unmitigated selfishness.

LGBT Selfishness on display, only looking out for themselves. LGBT folk are demanding that the straight community give up their unique social claim to pairing in society to make room for them. You hear the LGBT all the time demanding: "We want the same privileges as Married People" more "We want to marry".  This embitters the married straights. You do not hear LGBT saying "We want everyone to experience the love and caring and sharing that you married folks have but we want it for everyone". No LGBT is only looking out for LGBT.

Well that is why you LGBT folks are having such a hard time; you are not expanding the rights of man or woman or whatever. You are trying to join a club where the folks in the club can not compute what you are doing. Time for a little Sharky&Sharky university.

Marriage has been around for thousands of year. Same pattern basically one guy and one gal. Do not get hung up on cheaters and Muslims and Asian Emperors with more than one gal. Think about all the fairy tales of "happily ever after" or Abram and Sarai, or Caesar's Pompeia (who was not to be under suspicion ) or Pocahontas and John Rolfe or Mary and Joseph or the marriage feast of Cana, or Barry and Michelle. One consistent item is common: Straight Guy and Straight Gal. There is just too much history with a 5000 year old tradition which LGBT people cannot buck or change or insist that they have a right to. To say it plainly the "Talk to hand cuz' the Pope ain't listening". Further the majority of straight people cannot cotton to  your idea of marriage or cannot compute it.

Now Sharky&Sharky is here to help you LGBT, and all the other people who are dumbfounded by LGBT's limited and selfish desire to express their relationship in a public way by calling it marriage. Sharky&Sharky gives the world a new word "SHARRIAGE". This is the first public presentation of the the word, SHARRIAGE,  in a public space. It is given freely. Thus it is no longer patent-able or trademark-able. The meaning is as follows.

Sharriage is a legally defined, executed ,and recorded relationship between two adult humans. Sharriage is a state confirmed relationship entailing all of the legal obligations, rights, commitments and caring and sharing of historic marriage including that other peculiarity, domestic partnerships (which will fall into desuetude). 

Now when someone sees two men or two women and is informed that they are recently sharried, there will be no cognitive pain or hidden ridicule (eg which is the man or he looks more feminine than he does). The response will be "May the Lord bless them". Why is sharriage more open and expansive then a marriage? Because it not limited to two people in a sexual union only. Sharriage can apply to two sisters or a sister and a brother (the reference here is not to only black people but also to any race biological sister and brothers or even adopted children who are now adults) or what about all those folks ( oops sorry, straight couples) in  a sexual union living together. Yep, they go get a license: take the oath and bang, they are in a sharriage. Now, when two people are sharried, they get all the tax breaks and insurance perks and inheritance rights of old fashion married people (so fifties!). All fifty states can now make sharriage laws without all the straight people with religious views on marriage "gettin" in a snit. LGBT that are sharried can move easily from state to state.

So all you LGBT folk write to your congressman and governors to get latest sharriage laws passed for everyone; stop being selfish; lead the way. Let other people get all the same sharing that you want.

Cindy vs John McCain...Who's got your back?

Cindy disagrees with John. Cindy has never taken a bullet. John has. This time Sharky&Sharky goes along  with John. He is saying let's wait for the DADT report,which is due out shortly. Cindy have a Coors. Its not about bully's or gay children killing themselves. It's about who has got your back, and are you confident that they have your back?

Here is an inane video from msnbc which draws the nexus between bullying and gays in the military. Of course none of these opinion formers have ever served in the military. They draw conclusions based on a rationalism that embraces everyone generally without knowledge of any one specifically i.e. vagueness of stereotyping younger and older generations or telling a LGBT that there is no place for them when the better reasoning should be based on the relevant context namely the "brotherhood of the battlefield during a firefight".


The Coast Guard which is a predominantly women's force thinks that it is ok for announced gays to be in the military. The Marines do not.  Marines take bullets and need to know that other Marines will take bullets for them. Coast Guardians save people in precarious situation.

Most people that have not been in an all male situation do not understand what is going on when groups of young men take long trips to the men's room in the middle of the night. General James Amos, the Marine Corps commandant, said a repeal would be risky for Marines.

“There is nothing more intimate than young men and young women - and when you talk of infantry, we're talking about our young men - lying out, sleeping alongside of one another and sharing death, fear and loss of brothers […]I don't know what the effect of that will be on cohesion. I mean, that's what we're looking at. It's unit cohesion. It's combat effectiveness," 

Sharky&Sharky would add "and not political correctness".  The decision should be left to the leaders that take men and women into battle in which they will die. Another suggestion would be to interview a large number of gay men that served valoriously and are now retired. Talk to gay people that know something about war not Cindy McCain; pass me another beer huh babe?
