Rather than support Cody Alicea the bike riding flag waving kid, the school superintendent, Parraz said:
“First Amendment is important. We want the kids to respect it, understand it, and with that comes a responsibility,” said Denair Unified School District Superintendent Edward Parraz, who noted that racial tensions first boiled over at the school around Cinco de Mayo. ”Our Hispanic, you know, kids will, you know, bring their Mexican flags and they’ll display it, and then of course the kids would do the American flag situation, and it does cause kind of a racial tension which we don’t really want. We want them to appreciate the cultures.” (ref: Off Bike)It would seem that the School would take the time to educate the children, both American or non American (Since they appear to not want to be American) on the American flag and the US history, rather than take rights away from Cody. A child who is not wrong is made to bow to the children that are wrong. What are the schools teaching? This is certainly not the way keep the republic together.
