The Iranian court convicted [Amir Mirzaei] Hekmati of working with a hostile country, belonging to the CIA and trying to accuse Iran of involvement in terrorism, Monday's report said. In its ruling, a branch of the Tehran Revolutionary Court described Hekmati as a mohareb, an Islamic term that means a fighter against God, and a mofsed, or one who spreads corruption on earth. Both terms appear frequently in Iranian court rulings.Sharky&Sharky say that Moslems capturing "anybody" affirms that the captured one is guilty of crimes against "GOD" and the state and further retribution is required. Translation: Ransom or Death. Apparently, there is no difference between the Somali pirates or the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Hekmati, an American citizen, was visiting his grandmothers in Iran. Hekmati was born in the US, raised here, and served as a Marine. The Washington Post informs that:
His father, Ali, a professor at a community college in Flint, Mich., has said his son was visiting his grandmothers in Iran.Well, like many native born or married nationals that live in this country that cannot totally trust being an American even when by birth they are one, he has dual citizenship. This is of course against the US Constitution and Iranian law. Albeit, this US citizen incurred the wrath of the Iranian government when he sojourned there; they alleged that he is a spy. He entered the country legally with permission through Iranian customs, informing authorities that he had been a US Marine. He was in the Islamic Republic of Iran for two weeks before he was arrested for being a spy. There are no documents/evidence to demonstrate that he is or was a spy. Nothing was produced at his trial. Seems that he confessed; however there is no tape of the confession. Oh yeah this arrest and trial was wrapped up within 6 months. Photo and story from the Telegraph

Judiciary spokesman office said the branch, chaired by judge Salavati, has issued the death sentence against Hekmati for collaboration with the hostile government of the US and his membership in the CIA as well as trying to level terrorism charges against Iran.The court found the defendant Mohareb (caught red-handed in armed struggle against God) and corrupt on earth. The court looking into Hekmati case had been held on December 27. Based on the bill of indictment, issued by Tehran prosecutor, Hekmati has been subject to the death sentence on account of the reports of the Legal and Judicial Director General of the Espionage Campaign Department of Iran’s Intelligence Ministry as well as the defendant’s own confessions. In the proceedings Hekmati said he had the motivation to infiltrate Iranian intelligence system on behalf of the CIA.Sharky&Sharky says follow the bouncing ball. What is the retribution? If Mr. Hekmati is not returned, we, the United States, will hunt you down Mr. Salvati and Mr. Ahmadinejad and have you tried in the world court. And if the US is not satisfied with their verdict we will try you in the US courts. Democratic justice will be carried out.At the core, Sharky&Sharky assert that this is all a hoax to embarass/sabotage and blackmail the Obama administration.
