Edmunds, a provider of info for all things automotive, has released data (as of Aug 23, 2010) showing the true impact of this mis-guided program. Used car prices have gone through the roof! Why? - simple - supply and demand. A concept, apparently, the geniuses and chosen people of the Obama administration have yet to grasp.
According to Edmunds:
The "Cash for Clunkers" took a bunch of cars off the market. And with 5 million less new cars being sold last year, prices for used cars have skyrocketed.
Cadillac Escalades - 36% MORE than last year
Chevy Suburbans - 34% MORE than last year
Dodge Caravans - 34% MORE than last year
BMW X5 - 33% MORE than last year
And these are gas guzzlers, yet the prices for these vehicles continues to climb.
Even motorized roller skates, (what the administration and their cronies feel we should be driving while they maintain their fleets of gassed-up private jets), are 10% MORE than last year.
Sharky&Sharky believe, for us lemmings, the edge of the cliff is getting closer and closer.
