Rosie the Riveter, neé Geraldine Doyle, died today at the age of 86 in Lansing MI. An inspiration to the men and woman who fought in WWII and arguably the first major figure in the "Woman's Empowerment Movement." "Rosie", represented the American factory worker, mostly female, who tirelessly toiled around the clock producing armaments and munitions for the Allied war efforts.
Her death signals the end of an era. An era when the people of the U.S. were a proud and unstoppable force and did not bow down to anyone. We will sorely miss you.
